1. Data We Collect

When you use Mise, we collect only what's needed to provide the service:

  • Account data: Email address and display name when you register.
  • Recipe data: URLs you share, extracted recipe content, tags, and notes you create.
  • Kitchen data: Kitchen names, membership, and shared recipes.
  • Usage data: Anonymous analytics to improve the app (no tracking of individual behavior).

2. How We Use Your Data

  • To extract and store recipes from URLs you share.
  • To sync your recipes across devices.
  • To enable shared Kitchens with people you invite.
  • To process purchases through your app store.

3. Advertising

Mise offers an optional rewarded video ad feature for free users. You can choose to watch a short video ad to earn a free recipe credit. Ads are never shown automatically — they are always user-initiated.

Ads are served by Google AdMob. When you choose to watch an ad, AdMob may collect:

  • Device identifiers: Advertising ID (IDFA on iOS, GAID on Android).
  • IP address: Used for general location-based ad targeting.
  • Ad interaction data: Whether the ad was viewed, clicked, or completed.

On iOS, you will be asked for permission before any advertising identifier is accessed (App Tracking Transparency). On devices subject to GDPR, a consent dialog is shown before ad-related data collection begins.

Pro users are never shown ads. No ad-related data is collected from Pro users.

4. Third-Party Services

  • Google AdMob: Serves optional rewarded video ads (see above). Google's privacy policy.
  • RevenueCat: Manages purchases. Their privacy policy.
  • OpenAI: Processes recipe extraction. URLs and page content are sent for processing but not stored by OpenAI.
  • Apple / Google: Handle payments through their respective app stores.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on servers in Germany (EU). We use encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. We never sell your data.

6. Your Rights

You can correct or delete your data at any time through the app settings. To request a copy of your data, contact us at hello@usemise.app. Under GDPR, you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, and data portability.
